yo does anyone have advice for what to do with an old desktop computer that works just fine (would be great for things like, email/light browsing/word processing), but i just want it out of my life? it seems a shame to just recycle all the hardware when it's still functional. blast over the hard drive and toss ubuntu on there and donate it somewhere? what's a good place to start for finding a reasonable place to rehome it?

(when i say old i mean like i built this machine in 2008, replaced the graphics card and hard drives in like 2012, and retired it from my personal use in 2016.)

@modgethanc Do you have a home server? Old computers running Ubuntu are great for the task.
Of course, seeing as you mentioned Ubuntu, that puts the odds in favor of you already having a server 😁
